An introduction to Medeus , the major project I'm in with Claudia Puddu [link] . This painting was shown at the Biennale di Viterbo 2012. Funny scene at the vernissage, in front of all the people there:
The curator presenting my work: So, now, Nicole Cerrone, your painting has been defined as..."creepy"... Me, laughing : Well, that's good. The curator, laughing awkwardly : Is it? Me: Of course. It means that something was perceived the right way. The curator, really surprised : Is it?? So it was your intention! Me: ...
And I who though that a drowning figure was joyful!
Now i see why you've been so busy! Amazing work, nicole, it's strong. All that lovely wispy floaty drapery is so clever, when what hits me in the stomach is her feet, the down-pointing feet of a drowned girl. Let's hear it for creepiness!
Let's hear it for creepiness!
Thank you dear, I did this months ago, it took me not so much time, it was just natural!
